Kim Schlossberg Designs

Integrated Marketing | Print & Web Design • May 2002 – present

As owner of Kim Schlossberg Designs, Kim provides planning, execution and coordination of marketing strategy and deliverables, brand creation and management, graphic design, writing, website design, advertising, proposal development, and social media for the firm’s clients. Clients include businesses of all sizes, from individual health-care providers to a Fortune 200 corporation, as well as several non-profit organizations.

Selected projects have included:

  • Working with clients in the aviation industry to create and coordinate advertising, marketing communications materials, trade show displays and communication materials, and promotional items to support organizational objectives.
  • During a period of substantial growth, worked with a non-profit organization (revenue $2 million) to develop new branding and messaging and roll it out to the board, staff, and external audiences. Projects included creating of new logo and branding, new website, the development and production of the organization’s first ever annual report, messaging posters, and myriad event invitations.
  • For a local non-profit (revenue $28 million), worked with internal staff in all relevant disciplines (development, public relations, communications, clinical service providers, human resources, information technology, to name a few) to create an entirely new website to identify, understand, and serve the needs of their many audiences. The audiences addressed include current and potential donors, volunteers, employees, clients, referral sources, media, and the general community.
  • As a board member, designed and secured pro bono donations of printing for event invitations and secured significant donations of art and other silent auction items.
  • Worked with staff, board members and capital campaign committee chairs to design a branding system for two related but discreet campaigns  (annual canvas and $11 million capital campaign) for a local faith organization, including messaging and successful roll-out to the congregation. Designed and oversaw production of all collateral materials. Design work included significant historical research.
  • For a Fortune 200 company’s higher education division, worked with the division vice president and team to develop approximately $300 million in consulting proposals, which resulted in $250 million in consulting business over five years. The largest of these was a strategic five-year ERP program worth over $160 million to the client. Recruited and managed a team of up to twelve to provide the client with expert services in proposal technical writing, proofreading, and design. Helped client develop and communicate consistent benefit-focused messaging that helped convert prospects to clients.

Arthur Andersen LLP

Regional Marketing Manager • 1992 – May 2002

Regional marketing for a $300 million practice (North Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma) of an international professional services firm. Internal clients included audit, tax and consulting partners and managers serving all industries.

Managed, hired and trained proposal and graphics staff of up to ten people. Implemented changes in staffing and department operations that improved morale and eliminated employee turnover. Developed department policies and procedures to improve workflow and quality.

Focused on crafting selling messages consistent with the firm’s positioning and the targets’ stated and unstated needs. Managed the team that wrote, edited, designed and produced proposals. Team’s work products included proposals, oral presentations, presentation boards and other marketing collateral materials. Worked with professionals at all levels within extremely limited timeframes.

In addition to the primary responsibility of managing the proposal function, special projects included:

  • Managed Andersen’s brand launch for the region, which included internal events, collateral distribution and communications. Was considered the “brand cop” ensuring consistency in the use of the brand and related messaging.
  • Developed proposal best practices with firmwide Opportunity Management “virtual team.”
  • Defined marketing competencies for the proposal function with firmwide Global Competency Initiative “virtual team.”
  • Coordinated content and production for firmwide website for all local office sites worldwide.
  • Designed and developed content for DFW office web pages, and served as local office webmaster.
  • Facilitated small group brainstorming sessions for Dallas Public School teachers.
  • Edited brochures, advertisements and press releases.
  • Designed and maintained marketing department’s Lotus Notes databases to track project activity, expenses and calculate contributions to sales.

In addition to typical board member responsibilities (including serving as secretary and member of executive committee), designed, created, and maintain the Housing Crisis Center’s new website (www.hccdallas.org). Art directed the new logo design. Design and production of print materials, posters, and presentations. Designed and produced agency’s first ever annual report.
